Calafell is two worlds in one: up above, the medieval old town crowned by the Castell de la Santa Creu, with stone alleys and whitewashed houses; down below, five kilometres of seafront promenade and golden sand with its seafaring soul intact. This duality — ancient stone and open sea — gives every session a different backdrop within minutes: ideal for families, couples and portraits with true Mediterranean character.

Where to shoot in Calafell
Calafell — authentic, seafaring, Mediterranean, dual (sea and medieval stone). These are my favourite corners for a family, couple or holiday session:
Medieval castle high above the village, with walls, a Romanesque church and panoramic sea views; the whitewashed lanes climbing up to it are perfect for portraits with texture and warm light.
The longest seafront promenade in Catalonia (5 km) right by the sea: palm trees, railings and long perspectives that work beautifully for families strolling and couples shot against the light.
An emblematic sculpture from 1986 on the promenade, a tribute to the fishing community; a recognisable, characterful landmark for couple or group framing.
Fishermen's houses and the former house-museum of the writer Carlos Barral facing the sand; authentic facades, boats and a seaside-village atmosphere, ideal for natural reportage.
An Iberian settlement reconstructed on a hill near the station, with walls, towers and views of the Mediterranean; a striking, historic backdrop that gives strength to portraits and different sessions.
Fine sand and a wide shoreline with a clear horizon; perfect for barefoot family photos, reflections in the wet sand and silhouettes at sunset.
The best light is the golden hour: early in the morning on the beach, when the sand is empty and the sun lights the southeast-facing coast head-on, and late afternoon for the old town and the Ciutadella, where the low sun gilds the stone. Sunset over the promenade and the shoreline gives warm skies and silhouettes.

FAQ
My favourite corners are the Castell de la Santa Creu in the medieval old town, the Passeig Marítim (the longest seafront promenade in Catalonia), the Monument al Pescador and the reconstructed Ciutadella Ibèrica. I also work in the old fishermen's quarter beside the Casa Barral and on Calafell beach itself.
Yes, that's exactly what I do most: family, couple and holiday sessions for people travelling on the Costa Dorada. It's ideal for Airbnb guests who want authentic memories of their stay; message me on WhatsApp and we'll arrange the day and place.
