Salou is not just the buzz of Platja de Llevant and its palm trees: a few minutes away, Cap de Salou hides turquoise coves between pine-covered cliffs and a white lighthouse that delivers the most golden sunsets on the Costa Dorada. It is the perfect setting to combine, in a single session, the Mediterranean light of the family beach with the wild corners of the camí de ronda.

Where to shoot in Salou
Salou — family Mediterranean, palm trees and wild coves. These are my favourite corners for a family, couple or holiday session:
The palm-lined promenade beside the kilometre of golden sand of Platja de Llevant offers clean backgrounds, palm-tree symmetry and soft light: perfect for families and relaxed couple strolls.
A 1918 Modernista gem by a disciple of Gaudí, with a white facade and unique details; next to the Luminous Fountain it creates an elegant, recognisable backdrop right on the promenade.
The white lighthouse above the cliffs, surrounded by pines and open sea towards Cambrils, offers a wild, quiet setting with no crowds, ideal at sunset.
A small cove of fine sand tucked between limestone cliffs next to the lighthouse; at sunset the sun tints the sea with golden and reddish tones for intimate postcards.
The best viewpoint for the Salou sunset, with a panorama over the Golf de Sant Jordi; the sun drops over the sea for spectacular silhouettes and backlit portraits.
700 m of fine sand where the golden beach meets a pine grove: a natural backdrop of sea and forest, wide and free of buildings, ideal for family sessions.
Golden hour is the best option: at sunrise Platja de Llevant and the Passeig Jaume I are empty and bathed in soft light; at sunset, Cap de Salou, the lighthouse, the Penya Tallada and the Mirador de Porroig fill with golden and reddish tones over the sea (the sun sets towards the west, towards Cambrils).
